Beautiful Sunrise have been seen from Sarangkot, Pokhara

Sarangkot Sunrise and Closed View of Mt Fishtail: Sarnagkot Sunrise and mountain view is the must-have highpoint of your Pokhara visit. As one of the most sought tourist destinations in Nepal, Sarangkot is a great spot to view the sunrise over the Himalayas. It also has a magnificent view of the snow-covered mountains including Annapurna Massif, Fishtail Mountain, Dhaulagiri range, and Manaslu. The hill is located on the outskirts of Pokhara city. It is best viewed at dawn or dusk due to the spectacular pink and orange hues the mountain range takes on during these hours. This area also offers views of the Pokhara Valley with all its natural beauty. You can reach Sarangkot by 25 25-minute drive from your hotel by paying approx. 3000 rupees per cab with the return back. It is worthwhile to wake in the morning at about 5:00 a.m. The entry ticket counter will stop you from paying NPR 60 per head just below the spot.

Local boating at Phewa Lake Pokhara

Take a boat ride at Phewa Lake: The word Pokhara means ‘Lake’ so no doubt you will find many lakes all over the city. The best of all is undoubtedly the Phewa lake. Phewa is the largest in Pokhara and the second-largest lake in Nepal. It is a beautiful place to spend time boating or kayaking. While chilling at the lake, you can also view the tip of Mount Machhapuchhre, the virgin mountain in the Annapurna Himalayas.

Trek to Peace Pagoda: Peace Pagoda, also known as the Pokhara Shanti Stupa is a Buddhist-style monument on Anadu hill. It’s a 45-minute trek to the Stupa from where you can see the entire Pokhara city and the Phewa lake scattered beautifully in some parts of the city making it look gorgeous from the top. To reach the Stupa, you first need to take a boat to a small forest area from where you will start the trek. It’s a 45-minute trek to the Stupa. Once you reach there, you will see a huge Buddhist-style circle-shaped architecture. It’s peaceful, and you can have a good time learning more about the local deities.

Eat seafood at Phewa Bank:  Lakeside Phewa is a lovely place for foodies. There are many barbeques that stand on that lane that sell a variety of fresh seafood and chicken items. There is a big plate equally divided into columns that separate one dish from the other. You can select the dish you wish to eat; it will be freshly served to you after getting grilled.

Visit Davis Falls and Gupteshwor Mahadev Caves:  Davis Falls is the most visited waterfall in Nepal. The waterfall is quite massive, and the area around the falls is barred. The water forms an underground tunnel after reaching the bottom. This tunnel is approximately 500 feet (150 m) long and runs 100 feet (30 m) below ground level. After exiting the tunnel, the water passes through a cave called Gupteshwor Mahadev. It is the longest cave in Pokhara; going forward inside the cave there is a small pond where all the water gets collected.

International Mountain Museum: The International Mountain Museum is a collection about mountains, Mountaineering, Mountain People, and Mountain ecology. Mountains and mountaineering have a history of their own. Without preserving it, it will not be long before all the records and pieces of evidence will be lost forever. Nepal Mountaineering Association (NMA), established on 1 Nov 1973, initiated the establishment of the International Mountain Museum (IMM) in Pokhara. The basic objective of its establishment was to record, document, and chronicle the past and present development of mountaineering activities in the world in general and to preserve the saga of the momentous feats in the history of mountaineering in the Himalayan peaks in particular. The International Mountain Museum was established in the footsteps of Fishtail Peak and gateway to the mountain region. The shape of the museum roof itself resembles a mountain skyline to any visitor before entering the museum’s main gate.
